Jack, an aged and emotionally numb World War II paratrooper, sits at his dining room table a few hours after the funeral of his second wife. His grandson Jessup sits with him and asks a question that silently pushes Jack to the edge of a mental cliff.
Minutes later, while Jack and Jessup run an errand, Jack meets a severely disconnected homeless man and drives away with him, leaving Jessup in a parking lot with confusion and the promise of a quick return.
Jack begins a forced journey that makes him face a past he has carefully buried, and to recognize a personal truth he's been desperately avoiding.

Real characters in this book, honest and raw. The storline drew me in and I had to know more....made for a quick read. I had many different emotions reading this book and found myself considering a different viewpoint on some tough subjects. Must read if you like to be challenged.Product details

Where the Ocean Meets Stone eBook Henry Lynch Reviews
I really enjoyed where the story line was going, and the humorous interactions between characters. Unfortunately, I felt rather deflated at the end ( almost as if the author got tired of writing and wanted to just "wrap it up already".
I actually wanted to give it 4.5 stars and couldn't give it a five for reasons more technical than to do with the writing or the story. I thought this was a good story by an author with some storytelling skills. Although the setting is somewhere near an ocean coast, the dialog reminded me of how some people speak where I grew up far from any ocean coast. Hoping to find more to read by the author!
