Hannibal Lecter is perhaps the most memorable serial killer in fiction. He is a highly intelligent, cultured man who trained as a psychiatrist but became a cannibal. Lecter devours his victims in the most gruesome ways, but is also renowned as a gourmet cook. This combination of primitive savagery and sophistication is what makes Lecter such a chilling character. Read about Hannibal Lecter in this Quik eBook.

Caution: Spoilers abound! Some pretty embarrassing inaccuracies in here. I felt like I was reading a transcript of a ninth grader's book report. A couple of the more obvious mistakes: "Molson Verger" is actually Mason Verger, and he was not a successful business man. He was the spoiled heir to a meat packing fortune. At one point, Barney Matthews is referred to as Lecter's "immediate captor". Will Graham was Lecter's captor. Right after this, the author states that, while incarcerated, Lecter helped to solve four FBI cases, then in the same sentence refers to the two he actually helped solve. Next, the author mentions Dr. Lecter recieving various plastic surgeries that he actually performed on himself. This is not a petty detail as it does a lot in the way of showing Dr. Lecters level of psychopathy. This book credits Sir Anthony Hopkins as playing Dr. Lecter in the movies Red Dragon and Silence of the Lambs, but completely leaves out Ridley Scott's Hannibal. Finally, the author cites the usual suspects such as Albert Fish, Andrei Chikatilo, and Jeffrey Dahmer as people "thought to be" inspirations for this important literary character, when Mr. Harris himself dedicated the first few pages of a more recent edition of Silence of the Lambs to his real inspiration; the equally intriguing and mysterious Mexican "Doctor Salazar" who had a prison exchange with Mr. Harris that was eerily similar to conversations between Dr. Lecter and Jack Crawford's proteges, Will Graham and Clarice Starling. This could have been talked about in the space at the end of this little book that was, instead, used to reiterate what was already said on the first page. Really guys? You could not find enough information on this incredibly rich character to fill eight lousy pages. I know this was only 99 cents, but that adds up when a thousand people buy it, only to be grossly misinformed by this pamphlet that manages, in eight short pages, to insult Thomas Harris, Hannibal Lecter, Will Graham, Ridley Scott, Sir Anthony Hopkins, and "Dr. Salazar". Don't buy this! It is inaccurate and the formatting is terrible. There are more in depth and accurate studies of this character that can be read for free online.
